Verily Study Hub
The Verily Study Hub is a connectivity bridge that automatically encrypts and uploads data from the Verily Study Watch to the cloud when the user charges the watch.
I joined Verily as a Product Design Engineer intern and worked on the next generation Study Hub in 2022. I was responsible for the design of several electromechanical subsystems within the device, including designing light pipes, cable routing, heat management, and injection molded enclosures. I worked closely with electrical engineering, manufacturing, industrial design, and hardware test.
I organized and led the first prototype build of the Study Hub, fabricating and releasing parts, testing fit and assembly, and identifying areas for redesign. Since it was an in-house build, I managed inventory, designed fixtures for process steps, and created detailed manufacturing instructions for the device. I also managed the main issues list, tracking and prioritizing design and build challenges as they arose, and brainstorming potential solutions with the team. In addition, I assisted with pre-production testing to requirements, conducting and documenting test results in compliance with IEC 60601 standards.
In summer 2025, the next generation Study Hub launched to replace the legacy version.
